BICYCLES • Mixte 1 |

This is Jennifer's bicycle. It is a basic mid-1980s entry-level road bike made in Taiwan – but the mixte frame is what caught my attention. I found the bike on Craigslist, cleaned it up and removed the decals (for that ”MUJI” feeling...), upgraded to aluminum rims to save weight and improve braking, removed the front derailleur and the large chainring to simplify the drivetrain, and added a rack, fenders (with a front leather mud flap), and a brass bell for some class! |
